𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞) - 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧

On January 12, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of multiple shots being heard in the area of Meade Village Road and Meade Village Circle in Severn. Upon arrival officers located three vehicles and two residences that were struck by projectiles. There were no reported physical injuries as a result of the shooting. Officers made contact with a resident who found surveillance footage on their doorbell camera that captured images of four unknown subjects discharging firearms in the area. Western District detectives are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information contact them at (410) 222-6155 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip-Line at (410) 222-4700.

On January 11, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation in the area of Reece Road and Loving Road in Severn. As officers approached the vehicle, they were met by the odor of marijuana emanating from the interior passenger compartment. During their investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle driver was unlicensed. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a black semi-automatic handgun, a black revolver, a tan/black semi-automatic handgun, approximately 180g of suspected marijuana/edibles, 10g of suspected crack cocaine, 1g of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 3g of suspected psilocybin mushrooms and various prescription pills and drug paraphernalia. All suspects were prohibited from possessing firearms; they were arrested and charged accordingly.

𝟐𝟑-𝟕𝟎𝟎𝟕𝟐𝟕
On January 6, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of Faraway Hills Drive and Shooting Star Lane in Laurel. During the course of their investigation, officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a loaded revolver, and approximately 145g of suspected marijuana. Additionally, officers learned that one of the passengers was wanted on two outstanding warrants. All occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged accordingly.

On January 8, 2023, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers were on routine patrol in the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road when they observed a subject wearing a holstered firearm on their hip. Officers made contact with the subject, who was visiting from Virginia. Officers informed the subject that Maryland did not have reciprocity with the firearm laws of Virginia and that open carry in Maryland is prohibited under most circumstances. The subject was arrested and charged accordingly.

Robbery (Citizen) - Hanover

On January 2, 2023, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers received a call for a report of a strong-arm robbery that had occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. at a bus stop in the 700 block of Arundel Mills Boulevard in Hanover. The 30-year-old male victim was waiting for transportation when he was approached by a suspect requesting to use his phone to make a call. When the victim did not allow the suspect to use his phone, the suspect assaulted the victim and took the cell phone, causing minor injury to the victim’s arm. No weapons were used during this incident. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.

Commercial Robbery - Gambrills

On December 31, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a delayed reporting commercial robbery at Target located on Brandermill Boulevard in Gambrills. Loss Prevention advised on December 30, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., an unknown suspect approached a cashier, implied a weapon, and stole an undisclosed amount of US Currency. No injuries were reported. The Commercial and Bank Robbery Unit is investigating, and anyone with any information is asked to call 410-222-4720 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.
