𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐞

On January 2, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane in Glen Burnie for an attempted carjacking. The juvenile victim was retrieving items from their mother’s vehicle when a suspect approached, threatened to shoot the victim, and demanded the car keys. The victim complied, and the suspect got into the vehicle, a 2013 black Kia Soul. The victim ran for help. The vehicle owner walked outside and observed a black teenage male dressed in dark clothing seated in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. As the vehicle owner approached, the suspect fled on foot. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. No weapons were displayed during this incident. On January 2, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane in Glen Burnie for an attempted carjacking. On January 2, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Crain Highway and Aquahart Road in Glen Burnie when they stopped a gray Chevrolet Suburban driven by a male suspected of using a controlled dangerous substance. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officers observed suspected controlled dangerous substances inside the vehicle. The investigation resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm Taurus Arms handgun, a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, approximately 4 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and approximately 1.5 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl. The driver, who is prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and charged.

On January 1, 2025, at approximately 10:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a black Mercedes on Ritchie Highway near Shelly Road in Brooklyn. While officers were speaking with the driver outside of the vehicle about a registration violation, several occupants exited the vehicle and began assaulting the officers in an attempt to hinder their efforts. During the altercation, officers observed an individual attempting to leave the scene with a black bag that was inside the vehicle. An officer stopped that individual and discovered the bag contained a loaded Polymer 80 handgun. Officers were able to restrain the combative subjects with the assistance of backup units, and all occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged.
